The Apex Teen Project

An anti-bullying initiative founded in 2022 by Don Stoner — built to give teens in Washougal and the surrounding community a place to build real confidence, resilience, and self-respect.

The Apex Teen Project is an anti-bullying initiative founded in 2022 by Don Stoner, Head Instructor and Owner of Lone Wolf BJJ Academy. It was created to give teens in Washougal and the surrounding community a place to build real confidence, resilience, and self-respect — the same core values that define every class at Lone Wolf.

Don founded the Apex Teen Project because he saw firsthand how bullying affects kids in and out of the gym, and because Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu had already proven, again and again in his own classes, to be one of the most effective tools for turning a child who's been bullied into a confident young adult. Several of the testimonials from Lone Wolf families reflect exactly that transformation — parents describing kids who found their voice, their confidence, and their footing after they got on the mats. Why It Matters

Lone Wolf BJJ Academy's differentiator research confirms no competing academy in the Washougal, Camas, or Vancouver, WA area offers an equivalent program — the Apex Teen Project is a genuinely unique piece of what makes Lone Wolf part of this community, not just a gym in it.

How Jiu-Jitsu Supports the Mission

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is built on structured problem-solving under pressure — a teen who learns to stay calm, think clearly, and hold their ground on the mat carries that same composure into the classroom and beyond. That connection between mat-based discipline and real-world confidence is the foundation the Apex Teen Project builds on.
