I came in with an open mind and a bit nervous. I was received with kind faces and great hand shakes. The facility is clean, and well organized. Every member of the team was accepting, positive, and gave great advice. I felt very at ease with everyone there, especially the professor (coach) was informative, supportive, and quite understanding. I highly recommend coming here. Try it once, you won't want to stop, and you'll find why so many enjoy it. The hidden jiujitsu gym in Washougal, is well worth the find.
If I could give 6 stars, I would. My 5 year old boy has thrived here not only through the structured training but also through a culture focused on cultivating excellence and leadership. As far as I can tell this culture extends from the owner and coaches, down through the advanced belts, which cultivates priceless leadership skills and a healthy bond among the class.
Don't let the small town feel fool you, Lone Wolf Jujitsu is world class. I have trained at many gyms; Extreme Couture in Vegas, Lavin Jujitsu in the Bay and Valente Brothers Jujitsu out of Puerto Rico and was a wrestler and a wrestling couch for Sierra Vista High School. The training here is outstanding. Both my kids and my wife train here as well. Professor Don is a proven competitor who earned his Jujitsu Black belt from Rigan Machado. We are blessed he decided to move here and open up the studio.
It has proved a great place for my kids to learn respect and grow their physicality. Don is an excellent instructor and very patient with the smaller kids. My wife also takes kickboxing there and has become totally obsessed with it. Awesome place for the family!
We searched all over the Vancouver area for the right school. Don comes from a line of legends in the Jiujitsu/MMA world. He is great with all levels of students but his patience and understanding with the youth is incredible. My 7 year old Son and 9 year old daughter love the school.
Lone Wolf Jiu Jitsu welcomed me with open arms, and I can't imagine training anywhere else. Professor Don is a terrific instructor. The way that classes are structured is great for beginners, and everyone that trains is super friendly and welcoming. The environment is second to none, and the teaching is top notch!
Lone Wolf Jiu Jitsu Academy is truly an awesome place to learn Jiu Jitsu. The professor and coach are highly skilled and excellent instructors who make every class enjoyable yet challenging so you steadily gain skills and fitness. I'm in my 50's and was initially apprehensive if I would enjoy the classes but I was pleasantly surprised just how welcoming and supportive the entire Lone Wolf Academy community is for all ages. They really foster teamwork and the importance of being a good training partner. It is such a fun place to learn Jiu Jitsu, I always look forward to attending my next class.
Lone Wolf Jiu Jitsu has been a wonderful experience for my daughter, who has gained confidence and self-esteem in herself through the classes. As a student who was being bullied and having a rough time in school, this has helped dramatically. Coach Don has a gentle but firm teaching method that resonates with kids. Our family highly recommends Lone Wolf Jiu Jitsu.
My 3 boys started with coach Don many years ago and my middle son was lacking a lot of self confidence. His brothers moved on to other sports but because of the great comradery and positive motivation Nickolas came out of his shell and has gained so much from The Lone Wolf family. I can't thank them enough for what they have done for Nick's confidence as a teenager — these days he's a totally different kid. We love coach Don and all who go to Lone Wolf.
Coach Don and Heather are amazing! They have amazing patience with the kids. My boys love coming to Lone Wolf!! I have seen so much improvement in my oldest boy's confidence. They teach the kids how important it is to be kind and respectful to others. I love taking my boys there!! Through this whole quarantine they made sure the kids felt like they never left!!
My Son has been taking this class for 4 months and is showing really positive growth in his skills, confidence, and discipline. I highly recommend Don if you're looking for a skilled instructor that provides a positive environment to learn the skills and discipline of jiu jitsu.
Don Stoner is a serious competitor. He has put in the time and learned from some of the best out there. He tailors all his classes to get the most out of his students. Don takes a real one on one approach to jiu jitsu coaching. He offers both children and adult classes, and is conveniently located in Washougal. To those who are thinking of starting training, he loves to work with beginners. I'm glad that I get to train with Don Stoner. I can't say enough good things about what is being done over at Lone Wolf Jiu Jitsu.
Don is an exceptional instructor with the skills and knowledge to teach adults fitness and self-defense but the patience and creativity to do very well with children. You will not find an instructor with better credentials in Clark County, and in my opinion you will not find a better environment to learn Jiu-Jitsu in either.
